The Ball promises to be a sparkling night of delicious food, fantastic music and fun - and all to raise money to reduce loneliness.
On Saturday 10th November join us at the Age UK Somerset Charity Ball - an unforgettable evening including a delicious three course meal followed by live music.
If dancing isn't your thing, you can take to the tables at our Fun Casino, or how about getting your friends or colleagues into the photobooth to take some silly snaps!
Later there will be a live auction with incredible lots to bid on and a raffle with great prizes. If you’ve still got energy left after all that, the bar will stay open and the disco will go on til late.
The Ball will be taking place at the Rookery Manor and all funds raised on the evening will go towards Age UK Somerset's projects to help older people suffering from loneliness across the area.
For 70 years we’ve been bringing colour and friendship into lonely lives, and with your help we can help many more.
You won’t find a more worthwhile reason to get your glad rags on!

You will have heard about the huge numbers of older people who are suffering from loneliness. Life is real struggle and, for some, no longer seems worth living. Thousands go for a month or more without talking to anyone and the physical effects of loneliness can be as damaging as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
In Somerset and North Somerset lives are being changed by our team of Volunteer Befrienders. They are matched with an older person and make regular visits to provide companionship and to get them re-engaged with their local communities.
The service we provide is free but there are costs involved with running the scheme. We have many older people on a waiting list for a Volunteer and with your support in helping us raise money through the Ball, we can continue and expand this service and reach more of the older people in need.
We have countless stories of the difference our Volunteers have made but hearing about this in Jean's own words is better than anything I can write:
For 70 years our Volunteers have been working hard to improve the lives of older people in Somerset and North Somerset out of the goodness of their hearts.
We would love for our Volunteers to be able to help us celebrate on the night, but we don't have the funds to be able to give them tickets to say "thank you".
We have a list of Volunteers who would love to attend. Could you be their Fairy Godmother (or Godfather of course!) for the night and help us to say "You Shall Go to the Ball!"?
There is an option on the booking form to donate a ticket (or whole table) to a Volunteer.
Even if you can't go yourself, this would be a lovely way to show your support.
And on the night, the Volunteer you have sponsored will find out about your kindness as your name will be printed on their place setting card.
The more money we can raise, the bigger difference we can make.
Please could you help us to help Somerset's older people by:
Buying tickets to come to our Charity Ball or if you can't come, could you buy a Volunteer a ticket?
Spreading the word to encourage other people to come to the Ball.
Donating a prize for our Raffle.
Sponsoring an element of the Ball.
Helping us to put together some amazing Auction lots.
Becoming a Volunteer!
